I truly believe that if anyone else were in the situations we face in the US they would be given refugee status. Out of 54 countries in Africa, how many make it easy for us to actually return?
Black Expats living in or passing through Kigali, Rwanda on October 5th, I’d love to invite you to my next photo shoot for American Refugee documenting Black Expats around the world. My goal is to bridge the gap in the diaspora and share our stories in as many Black-owned and establishments and African countries as possible.

Each image starts off in color and is then printed and painted on and photographed, multiple times to create a finished composite. You will receive a digital copy of the piece for your participation in the project.
There will also be a videographer onsite if you’d like to contribute to the archive and share your story of why you Blaxited.
