So, I’ve emailed Robert and we’re still trying to figure this all out since he’s not 100% familiar with Rwandan tax laws. I found this…
And it seems that income earned from trading (from a U.S. brokerage) would be taxed by Rwandan income tax since all residents have to pay even if the income is from a foreign source. Also, a “resident” would be anyone who has stayed in the country for more than 183 days during the year (continuously or intermittently), according to this link.
So, technically, even with a long-term visiting visa (v12) one would have to pay income tax in Rwanda if they happen to stay 184 days. This is fine, I’m just worried about having to pay taxes both in Rwanda and U.S. on the same income. Any thoughts on this?

I think the next move is for me to research and find out tax professionals here….I am researching an accounting firm for My Cousin Connection…I will pose these questions as well.

There is a loophole somewhere and we just have to find it.

    Hi Family,
I am a US tech worker and looking to relocate to Rwanda. I want to come to work remotely for a few weeks so that I can look for a home or land to build upon. If anyone can assist me and give me advice, I would love to connect! ????
